Government censorship by proxy?

A lawsuit charges that the US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy is trying to pressure Internet companies into suppressing "false" information about COVID-19. Well, maybe the info is false, and maybe it's not. But do we want the government pressuring private companies to stifle the free flow of controversial ideas? This would be illegal if the feds did it directly. Should we let them do it indirectly?
