These Truths

I had the good fortune to host a discussion with Harvard historian Jill Lepore at the Boston Atheneum a couple months ago. We discussed her latest book, "If Then," the insightful and entertaining story of a now forgotten 1960s company called Simulmatics that prefigured many of the innovations of social media.

Impressed by the encounter, I decided to check out a more famous Lepore book, her thousand-page-long, one-volume history of the US. And it's marvelous. Especially as I'm doing the audiobook version, read by Lepore herself. I remember the sweet and winsome voice from having met her. She's the ideal narrator for her own work. I recommend it to you all--a wonderful book by a brilliant and charming lady.
